Getting My Foot in the Door

I am looking to start with a company that does electronic payment processing. I have appointments and meetings I will attend, but I also have the opportunity to cold call on my downtime from those meetings. Do you have any advice about approaching merchants I have no appointment with. A high level of success at this job no doubt lies in this skill. Thanks!
in my 23 years of B2B selling I NEVER made a single customer call without first making an appointment. That's just what I believe.
FYI, I have never used a script either.
