Building Rapport with the Customer

i would like to know the skills needs to be acquired to build rapport with customers and not just techniques because they will eventually be recognized by the customer to be not genuine and may even lead to resistance not cooperation to close the sale.

Hi,

people have acute BS detectors so it's important to have the best interest of your prospect in mind.

You are not there to make a sale or make money. You are there to make someones life better or easier. And if you do that well enough the sales will come.

As Zig Ziglar said, "you can have everything you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want."

I don't necessarily agree with what you say about techniques being found out.

I have used unconscious rapport building techniques for over 15 years and have never been called on it. Although, it's important to remember I never tried to use this to manipulate people, only to open the lines of communication and give myself every opportunity to explain how my offering could be of benefit to them.
