sales is like everything else ... what you FOCUS on grows and what you neglect withers.
Of course, you may be putting the effort into adding new prospects and still not getting the results. If I can carry the gardening metaphor a little bit further. If you don't treat the plant in the right way it will wither and die too.
So, you need action and the RIGHT actions.
People will try to tell you that Cold calling is dead. Dead WRONG I'm afraid.
People will also try to tell you the ONLY way to get more people in your pipeline is by cold calling. Tell me why would you limit the feed into your pipe to only one source? It doesn't make sense, does it?
If you want to get better at non-cold call methods I'd take a look at the book, "Never Cold call Again" by Frank Rumbauskas.
If you want to get better at cold calling I'd look at the work of Wendy Weiss or Art Sobczak.
